As a Value Added Reseller (VAR),  you stay busy all year servicing existing customers, marketing to new customers, and working with your selected vendors. With all you have going on, it’s difficult to find time to work on the business as opposed to always working in it. Attending a channel conference is the ideal time to step back and make time to learn, explore, network and possibly seek out new vendors- all in an effort to help you exceed your business goals.

There are two upcoming conferences that I think are well worth your time to attend this summer: CompTIA ChannelCon 2016 and the Channel Partners Evolution Conference. Of course, Digium and some of our trusted partners will be at both conferences, so these serve as the perfect opportunity to stop by and meet us in person, if you’re considering joining our award-winning partner program.

CompTIA ChannelCon

(August 1-3, Hollywood, Florida)

This conference is packed with sessions that cover topics such as security, mobility, and customer acquisition. It also takes a look at other issues important to VARs, including hiring the right people, collaborating with other partners, building a B2B company, the changing role of IT, business valuation, and developing an exit strategy. Other hot topics being addressed range from IoT to managed services, and there is a “state of the industry” report as part of the opening keynote session. Did I mention that Peyton Manning is also a keynote speaker? If you can’t make it to the conference in person, there is an option to attend some sessions online.

ChannelPartnersEvolution

Channel Partners Evolution

(August 14-17, Washington, D.C.)

A favorite industry conference, Channel Partners always delivers good content along with plenty of opportunities to network. This year, some of the topics covered include digital marketing, security, customer support, reselling services, business planning, and working with start-ups. There are also several sessions that take a closer look at Cloud services (and related Cloud issues), mobility, WebRTC, and IoT. If you want to network, there’s no shortage of opportunities at Channel Partners where events include ‘speed networking’ sessions, a Women in the Channel mixer,  a first-time attendee reception, pub crawl, and even an after-hours Telecom for Change fundraiser at the historic Torpedo Factory Art Center.

Meet us there! Come by the Digium Booth #G25 and say “Hello!” and learn more about us.
