ITEXPO EastThe month of January is an exciting time for those in the communications industry. While the rest of the country slowly freezes over, everyone from engineers and IT/telecom managers to C-level execs and business owners will gather in sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida for the highly anticipated ITEXPO– the only event dedicated to communications solutions for the enterprise mid-market, resellers, and service providers.

From Monday to Thursday, January 25-28, educational keynotes, training sessions, and workshops will take place at the Greater Ft. Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center for ITEXPO 2016. Some hot topics this year include Cloud, data, security, and WebRTC. Of course, we have lots of Digium team members headed to Asterisk World at ITEXPO, and there are several opportunities for you to connect with us while at the event.

Here’s what Digium will be up to during ITEXPO:

Justin Hester

While the general ITEXPO conference sessions kick off Tuesday morning, Asterisk World commences its sessions on Monday with Asterisk From Scratch, an informational session led by Justin Hester, Digium’s Asterisk technical trainer. If you are new to Asterisk and would like to know what the software can do for you, how it’s deployed, and more, this is a must-attend session.

On Wednesday, catch Justin’s Introduction to PJSIP, a new SIP stack first integrated with Asterisk in version 12- and now thriving in version 13. See the advantages it brings and get some top tips about getting the most from it.

Brian Ferguson

With new technologies such as WebRTC and adoption and inclusion of RESTful APIs in Asterisk, businesses are better equipped to give their customers an optimal experience. On Wednesday, January 27, Brian Ferguson, product marketing manager for Switchvox, will discuss this further in the session Building the Best Experience for Your Customers and Your Business: Build Your Own Contact Center.

Steven Sokol

WebRTC is the new hotness, offering the promise of contextual, in-app communications. In the presentation, Real-time Communications on the Web: Asterisk and Respoke, Steve Sokol, Asterisk marketing lead, will explain what it takes to make WebRTC work in the real world, and will offer several options to integrate it into your Asterisk-based communications solution.
